In this role you will support the development and execution of the Environment strategy in partnership with brand and communications. Corporate Citizenship at RBC combines the following teams for an integrated citizenship approach: Social Impact, Youth Strategy & Innovation, Citizenship Engagement, Citizenship Impact Measurement, Evaluation & Reporting, and Environmental Affairs.
What will you do?
- Ensure global alignment with RBC’s Social Impact strategy, policy and guidelines
- Protect and enhance RBC’s leadership position in Corporate Citizenship, providing strategic direction and innovative programming and building strong relationships with charities and community groups
- Work with Sponsorships and Communications partners to identify and implement joint initiatives to leverage the RBC brand in the community, raise awareness of donations programs, increase employee engagement and client loyalty
- Review and assess funding requests and prepare written responses to each, demonstrating use of advanced philanthropic review and evaluation techniques
- Review/approve & decline donation requests and makes recommendation to the Director, Social Impact and/or Executive Director, RBC Foundation
- Provide advice and counsel to charitable organizations and act as a senior representative of the RBC Foundation
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 2+ years in a similar field, either in corporate donations or with a not-for-profit
- Experience managing significant national and global relationships with sector leaders, charitable organizations and internal stakeholders
- Ability to think strategically and analytically
Conceptual thinking
- Collaboration
Nice-to-have
- Post-Secondary Education (MBA/MA preferred)
- Certificate of Corporate Citizenship/Corporate Social Responsibility
- Experience working within corporate donations and corporate citizenship
- Knowledge of Grants/Donations Software Management Systems
