The Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation is seeking a passionate change agent to grow organizational capacity to facilitate increased revenue to support as many Halton children and families as possible.

You are guided by a passion to help others and are an empathic leader working with volunteers, and a Board of Directors. You pay attention to detail and are energized by fostering and building reciprocal relationships.
You are able to lead and work hands-on simultaneously. You are a visionary and exude creativity combined with an action orientation to achieve results. You are a team player who works independently and with a strong of urgency to achieve key objectives. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will move the organization forward by executing the overall strategic plan and through critical fiscal accountability.

FOUNDATION BACKGROUND

Halton Catholic Education Foundation is a stand-alone not-for-profit organization with revenue of just under $300,000. Our mission is to help Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) students succeed at school by providing financial support to families in need.

The Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation (HCCF) partners with the HCDSB to support their students and families in need throughout Halton (Acton, Burlington, Georgetown, Halton Hills, Milton, Oakville). The HCCF raises funds to help HCDSB students overcome financial barriers to learning, thereby helping students succeed in school.

The foundation is faith-based and leans into the Catholic Social Teachings of hope, generosity, respect, dignity, equity, respect for the human person and care for the poor. Through the work of volunteers and donors and in partnership with the staff and teachers within the Halton Catholic District School Board schools – the HCCF is able to help bring these teachings to life.

Competencies

• Minimum post-secondary education from an accredited university or college
• 3-5 years fundraising experience. Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation or working towards designation, an asset
• Proven track record of building donor relationships (corporate and personal)
• Social media savvy
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Comfortable public speaking
• Exceptional communication skills
• Budgeting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel/Database skills
• Flexibility to attend evening/weekend events, is required
• Board experience considered an asset
• Event planning considered an asset
• Grant writing experience an asset
• Experience living and/or working in Halton Region, an asset

Other Requirements

• Valid Class G Driver’s License with reliable vehicle to travel for work related purposes, is required
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check as well as a current Vulnerable Persons Check and a Family and Children Services Check, is required

COMPENSATION

The current salary range for this opportunity is $80,000 and 3 weeks’ vacation. This role currently does not have direct reports.
