Associated Youth Services of Peel (AYSP) is currently seeking 3 Multisystemic Therapists to join our team.

AYSP is an accredited, charitable organization, supporting children, youth and families with mental health and/or youth justice issues.   • You will receive the Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) 5-day training and ongoing training to acquire extensive clinical skills as you work with families, youth, their communities and key members of their ecology.
  • You will empower families to address problematic behaviours and help their youth ages 12 - 17 make life-transforming changes utilizing a strength-based approach to implement effective change quickly (treatment is 3-5 months)

  • Flexible schedule to meet your clients’ needs and your needs
  • Hybrid work arrangement
  • Therapists carry low caseloads of 5-6 clients to allow for flexibility and increased attention to families

Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-home counselling within a multi-faceted program which promotes behaviour change in a youth’s natural environment
  • Engage primary caregivers to develop and deliver treatment plans in conjunction with the client and other key participants, based upon a comprehensive, strength-based ecological assessment
  • Establish and maintain professional alliances with collateral agencies and service providers
  • Participate in MST trainings, weekly clinical peer supervision with the MST team including the Consultant and MST related developmental activities
  • Maintain professional documentation, in the form of assessments, case notes, discharge summaries to promote peer and supervisory review and feedback
  • Support the 24-hour phone on-call system on a rotational basis, with generous compensation (lieu time)
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counselling or another related field with minimum 2 years’ clinical experience working with families and/or youth 
  • Registration within the professional regulating body of either the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario in good standing is required
  • Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Structural and Strategic Family Therapies, Trauma-focused Therapy and Behavioural-based treatments
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-need clients utilizing a goal-focused approach and interventions within systems in the youth’s natural ecology (i.e., family, peer, school, and neighborhood)
  • Collaboration and partnership with community agencies (such as CAS, Mental Health agencies, Probation and Court services)
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and provide own transportation, with appropriate liability insurance and evidence of coverage for occasional client transportation
  • Fluency in French and other languages is considered an asset
Salary Range: $69,173 - $78,173 yearly
