Overview:

In this role the candidate will report to the Director of Development.  You are a seasoned major gift professional who prefers building relationships with potential major gift donors to extend the organizations’ donor pool.  You have had success with cultivating and converting annual donors and prospects to major gift donors at the $25K+ level and have some experience with capital campaigns. You are not afraid of a challenge and excel at growing revenue and working across departments to identify opportunities that will maximize support for Covenant House Toronto programs. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.   

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Director to develop long term objectives in keeping with the department’s strategic direction
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective donors, with accountability for achieving fundraising targets and deadlines within established budgets
  • Manage and track donor interactions and moves
  • Successful in securing multi-year financial gifts
  • Develop personalized stewardship plans to keep donors informed, involved and secure future support
  • Delegates, supervises and manages performance of Associate Managers and Development Officers, students and/or volunteers assigned to them as necessary
Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in major gift fundraising or relationship-based sales experience 
  • Experience and success working with 150+ prospects
  • University/college degree or equivalent in fundraising
  • Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising targets and deadlines within established budgets
  • Capital campaign experience is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office and Raiser’s Edge knowledge and experience would be beneficial
