Three Oaks is currently accepting applications for a
Full-Time Executive Director

Three Oaks Foundation is an essential service of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, providing a variety of support services for women and their children who have experienced domestic violence.

The Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership to the organization and facilitating its efforts to realize its vision and fulfill its two-pronged mandate:

  • to provide quality services to abused women and their children in cooperation and collaboration with the network of service providers in Hastings County,

  • and to work towards ending violence against women.

The Executive Director is also responsible for overseeing and managing the ongoing operations of the organization, including but not necessarily limited to financial, administrative, public relations, human resources, and service delivery. The incumbent works cooperatively and effectively with the Board of Directors, employees, students, and volunteers involved with “Three Oaks Foundation” to ensure that all systems and operations comply with the mission statement, philosophy, beliefs and aims and the policies of the organization.

This position reports directly to the Board of Directors, Monday to Friday. This is a 35 hour per week position, with additional hours required to attend evening meetings with the Board and other outside agencies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A post-secondary degree in business administration, social work, or a similar social/human services field.

  • Three to five years’ experience as an Executive Director or senior manager

  • Thorough understanding of budget/financial management

  • Experience recruiting, training and management of both staff and volunteers; history of providing exemplary leadership and supervision to staff.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, volunteers, and a broad range of social service providers.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

  • A current and valid driver’s license and insurance is mandatory.

  • Up to date vulnerable sector / CPIC check.

  • Computer literate including experience utilizing electronic data bases.
