Sustainability Network Communications and Technology Lead
Sustainability Network is a nonprofit capacity builder that has been serving the environmental nonprofit community across Canada for 28 years. We are located in Toronto at the Centre for Social Innovation-Spadina and although we convene ENGOs there and elsewhere on occasion the vast majority of our programs are delivered virtually.
The position is full-time 5 days per week and starts April 14, 2025. The position is hybrid during the 3 month probationary period and possibly remote after that. The successful candidate needs to be available for occasional visits to the office and so should be based in Toronto or the GTA.
The Communications and Technology Lead provides support on all of our online training and capacity building especially our online (Zoom) events and associated setup on our (Webflow) website. You will be responsible for:
- creating of training webinar event landing pages and event e-blasts (selecting image from contracted service) and managing of payment and registration functions (Ticket Tailor)
- design and dissemination of electronic communications (ie. event blasts via MailChimp), editing and publishing a monthly Digest e-newsletter and using Ticket Tailor to craft and send out reminder emails to event registrants.
- leading on event promotion to the nonprofit sector with an emphasis on environmental NGOs with the help of a volunteer that you manage
- (co)hosting numerous online capacity building events as well as supporting and managing relationships with associated service providers and follow-up to registrants (circulating recording (Vimeo) and slides)
- Webflow website management including updating event archives, program page updates (Canva to create page event graphics) and ensuring the stability of the platform (domain registration, web hosting, back-ups, and security)
- some IT related responsibilities such as organizational emails, shared drive management and occasionally hardware setup
- some general administration, possibly drafting and/or development of proposals & funder follow-up reports and other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in communications, technology, nonprofit management or related fields.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, small nonprofit preferred.
Strong experience using Zoom platform including hosting webinars & meetings, managing breakout sessions and online ticket sales, registrations and bank deposits.
Experienced with website management and basic knowledge of front-end web development.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) and Canva.
Demonstrated experience in the development of web-based communications materials including social platform management (mostly LinkedIn but Facebook too).
Computer proficiency using MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and Google applications.

Salary is $60 000 per annum plus benefits (health, fixed retirement benefit).
