As the Associate Director, Programs, you will provide effective leadership and oversight to the program team while building strategic partnerships within the healthcare space and beyond.

Look Good Feel Better is an international program operating in 27 countries, all with the mission of empowering people facing all cancers through knowledge, support and confidence. Our core workshop, available through more than 100 cancer centres across Canada and online helps individuals safely manage the appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatment so they can feel more like themselves again. Through our Feel Better Series, we are expanding our programming to help fill the gaps in psychosocial support for those in-treatment, post-treatment and those living with cancer. More than just make-up, LGFB provides a safe place for connectivity and community for those facing similar challenges. With the help of over 1000 volunteers and its partners delivering compassionate care and expertise, we are advocates for self-care, optimizing mental health and well-being, and empowering the community.

As Associate Director of Programs, you are responsible for the overall management of LGFB programming in support of our mission and strategic plan and aligned with our core values.
Reporting to the President and CEO, you will ensure program sustainability and innovation through oversight of LGFB existing programs, while leading the development of new programs within the supportive healthcare space. You are attuned to community relevancy and navigating diverse, complex health and people systems.
Program Management & Oversight (50%):
- Provide leadership, management and strategic oversight of program team of 4 permanent staff, contract staff as required and supporting volunteer resources as needed
- Develop effective plans to ensure best in class program delivery and program innovation
- Establish and steward partnerships that further LGFB’s mission or credibility in the supportive health care context such Associations, Like-Minded service delivery partners and/or Advisory Groups
- Monitor KPI/metrics and take steps as appropriate to ensure attendance and satisfaction of participants
- Lead on-going evaluation and reflection of appropriate updates to workshop curriculum and additional program areas
- Lead team in best practice volunteer recruitment, training, engagement and communication
- Provide direction and oversight on product procurement for workshop kits, events and volunteer recognition
- Ensure teams are optimizing efficiency and effectiveness with decision-making supported through data
- Work effectively with Finance and Operations team regarding operational logistics such as inventory and vendor management, policy and procedures, legal contracts, and risk management
- Working in partnership with Marketing team and PR agency, be spokesperson for media opportunities
- With support of Marketing team, develop, design and deliver audience-specific presentations to achieve program goals
- Comfortable moderating online and in-person speakers’ series
- Research and submit grant applications to generate program funding
- Work with the Development team to provide program updates, growth strategies, join donor meetings as appropriate and contribute to the development of donor agreements in terms of program deliverables
- Support regional cultivation and stewardship activities
- Monitor grant commitments and provide updates for interim and final reports
- Oversee finances and administration of programs under this portfolio to ensure cost efficiencies, risk mitigation and departmental continuity including all related vendor management, HR, contracts, systems, and operational planning.
- Collaborate with internal teams, ensuring that all areas are integrated to maximize opportunities
- Member of leadership team contributing to strategic planning, organizational operations and team culture
- Best practice sharing and support of international LGFB programs
- Other projects as assigned

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to adapt to different stakeholder audiences, ability to engage audiences in organizational mission
- 10+ years of related experience with demonstrated measure of excellence in performance
- Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in Community Programming, Health Promotion, Communications, Marketing and/ or Development
- Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills
- Adept at data analysis, risk management and/ or contingency planning
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Office
- Proven track-record of building and sustaining strong community and stakeholder relationships based upon listening, understanding and finding approaches which are mutually-beneficial
- Superior organizational, administrative and time management skills
- Passionate about sharing and advocating for supportive health care, empowering women and families, community programming and capacity building
- Active participant to ensuring a positive organizational culture and mission as both a team player and individual contributor
- Bilingual in French strongly considered an asset
- LGFB works on a hybrid model and minimum 2 days a week teams are in the office
- Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle with an ability to travel within Canada on occasion
- Ability to some work nights/ weekends as required
