The Manager, Philanthropy - Individual Giving’s priorities will include renewing and growing WCHF’s community of existing donors and prospects, and proactively building a new pool of prospects to meet annual revenue targets. These priorities will maximize the potential of WCHF’s current pool of donors and stakeholders, fuel WCHF’s major gifts program, with a key focus on growing the mid-level donor base, and securing planned giving commitments in alignment with annual targets. This position reports to the Senior Director, Philanthropy and will work closely with the WCH/F leadership teams, as well as key volunteers and stakeholders.Core Deliverables:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization’s mission and funding priorities, collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team, Stewardship team, and key hospital stakeholders to create compelling donor opportunities, funding proposals and stewardship initiatives.
- Responsible for a portfolio of 80-100 mid-level and major gift donors/prospects, with a $1,000,000 fundraising goal (portfolio value to grow annually commensurate with tenure in role).
- Oversee portfolio moves management – identification, discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship – working collaboratively with all Foundation departments (the Senior Leadership, Philanthropy, Donor Services, Marketing and Communications and Stewardship teams) to ensure an unparalleled donor experience.
- Lead the organization’s strategy for mid-level donor engagement.
- Oversee processes for donor management in Raiser’s Edge NXT to support an active and effective Moves Management system, this includes maintaining up to date, accurate and fulsome donor/prospect profiles.
- Manage timely and quality briefing materials, proposals and presentations for personal portfolio of donor and prospect meetings.
- Demonstrate professionalism and act as an ambassador for WCHF at events and meetings, with proven experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.
- Work in partnership with WCH/F leadership on volunteer engagement, grateful patient relationships, proposal development and approval, and stewardship activities.
- Contribute to efficient organizational processes and procedures, and bring an approach of innovation and creative thinking.
- Post-secondary education preferred. Specialization in fundraising or related field an asset
- A seasoned fundraiser with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a fundraising or similar business environment with demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and meeting KPIs.
- Exhibits high degree of professionalism and emotional intelligence when working with a wide range of stakeholders, including Board of Directors and volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently, superior organizational skills, strict attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial, creative and strategic with a growth mindset.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, proposal writing experience is considered and asset.
- Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database management, experience with Raiser’s Edge considered an asset.
- Availability to travel within the GTA and work outside of normal business hours as needed.
