JA British Columbia (JABC) is a member of JA Canada and part of JA Worldwide, one of the world’s largest and most impactful youth-serving nonprofits. Since 1955, JABC has inspired and prepared youth to succeed in an everchanging global economy. In the 2023-24 school year, over 80,000 BC youth, including over 3,000 Indigenous youth, benefited from JA programs delivered free of charge by volunteers who bring their real-life experience into the classroom. JA programs focus on work readiness, financial health and entrepreneurship, giving students the confidence and skills they need to become the next generation of business and community leaders.
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Finance and Operations is a senior leader with organizational authority, acting as a strategic advisor to the CEO and a key contributor to JABC’s success. This role oversees financial management, operational efficiency, and organizational infrastructure, ensuring that JABC remains mission-driven, financially sustainable, and operationally effective. The VP is a thoughtful and forward-thinking professional who collaborates with cross-functional teams and supports other areas within JABC’s Functional Framework to drive organizational growth and impact.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, innovative and purpose-driven senior finance and corporate services leader. A strategic thinker who looks beyond the pure numbers and sees opportunities while working in tandem with the CEO and leadership team in articulating a pathway to work with key donors, sponsors and partners. The incumbent will bring a track record of success as a hands-on financial executive with a not-for-profit, public or private sector organization where operational efficiencies and financial management have been key aspects of the role. Beyond the requisite technical financial skills and abilities, the ideal candidate is a compassionate and engaging individual with solid relationship and interpersonal skills.
The targeted salary range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
