About this position
The Associate, Graphic Design will be responsible for creating engaging visual communications across multiple media channels. The Associate is an active participant in a fast-paced, full-service communications department that supports the fundraising initiatives of The Hospital for Sick Children. This position reports directly to the Manager, Creative Services
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design electronic and print materials such as brochures, posters, publications, ads and promotional pieces, and web to support the efforts of various Foundation development teams;
- Create and produce JPEGs, PDFs, Vector, video, clip art, graphs, charts and other design elements;
- Integrate multimedia concepts with technical graphic design elements as appropriate;
- Provide technical graphic assistance to internal stakeholders;
- Create and prepare marketing material for various fundraising teams;
- Ensure that all communications materials adhere to the brand guidelines;
- Organize and maintain Communications’ multiple files and design archives.
- Facilitate video productions and photography;
- Collaborate with external vendors, Hospital Creative Service Team and other internal stakeholders; and
- Various other duties as appropriate.
The successful applicant should possess the following:
- 3-5 year’s work experience in digital marketing or digital communications with previous design experience;
- University degree or college diploma in Marketing, Advertising, or equivalent program;
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suites including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat;
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, HTML, CSS, and Flash
- Well versed in the latest graphic design methods, practices, techniques and associated principles
- Discretion, tact, diplomacy and attention to detail are essential;
- Exceptional verbal communication skills;
- Exceptional written/editing and proofreading skills;
- Highly motivated conceptual thinker;
- Ability to constantly re-prioritize work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment;
- Ability to work as a team member, but also independently;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment;
- Strong organizational and time management skills; and
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment on multiple projects with efficiency.
