About this position
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of email marketing campaigns for all Programs, Services and Departments that use this channel at the Canadian Red Cross
- Work closely with all departments that require email marketing to help develop their campaigns including copy, translations, creative asset development and landing pages.
- Work closely with the Email Marketing Consultant to optimize these campaigns based on the campaign brief
- Create the emails within our Content Management System, working with the available templates and making recommendations for new template development/testing
- Project manage campaigns from briefing to deployment, working with designers, copy writers, translators and technical development teams
Execute on email marketing deployment and protect the Society’s email deliverability metrics
- Manage the end-to-end email marketing deployment process for all departments within the Canadian Red Cross. Execute by tracking program interdependencies, milestones and deliverables, and legal compliance (CASL).
- Monitoring of email deliverability and maintenance of relationships with ISP’s and proactively implementing industry best practices to enhance deliverability rates
Communicate with internal clients on the performance of their campaigns and keep up to date on industry and competitor activity
- Capture, assess and communicate impact and learnings of email programs . Produce email marketing reports and provide information and insight back to the email campaign requestors
- Remain updated on industry best practices regarding performance, deliverability, mobile, new tools and technology
- Monitor the competitive landscape, track and report on competitor activity and make recommendations based on industry trends
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
The minimum qualifications for this position are the completion of a a university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field plus a minimum of 1-2 years of email deployment/coordination experience.

- Hands-on experience and proven track record managing all aspects of email campaigns and delivery through a major email service provider
- Experience working with a Content Management System is an asset, but not mandatory
- Experience in an e-commerce environment is an asset, but not mandatory
- Experience with Lyris List Manager or other is an asset, but not mandatory
Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of email best practices around deliverability, opt-ins, CASL and list management
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with database marketing and working with CRM systems within an email program
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to articulate and champion email marketing best practices and standards
- Excellent written and verbal skills. Strong creative intuition on messaging/designs that resonate with the public
- Bilingual is an asset, but not required
- Exceptional project management skills, strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and high degree on initiative to drive projects to completion
- Passion for data and strong bias for action - ability to synthesize data into insights and insights into actionable programs
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment
- Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks
- Ability to establish rapport and credibility and build strong relationships with all levels of internal and external partners in a complex organizational structure
- Must have excellent attention to detail, superior organizational skills and quality assurance skills
- Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and results driven

Working Conditions
- The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
- Occasional requirement to work overtime hours, often with short notice.
- Domestic travel may be required.
